Our Selection
Over the past quarter-of-a-century, Fullbrooks of England has developed a number of casting and moulding techniques using historic methods to produce both classic and contemporary fibrous plaster columns, plaster pilasters and other mouldings. From our workshop here in the Cotswolds, our master craftsmen use a range of conservation skills to restore damaged period features as well as create bespoke features based on historic drawings, pictures or client-provided sketches/ideas.
From small fluted pillars to tall, wide plinth Tuscan columns with, our range of plaster columns create dramatic focal points for all manner of interior settings.
Often associated with strength and masculinity but also aesthetic simplicity, the Doric column represents one of the earliest and simplest of the Classical Orders set down in ancient Greece, resulting in suitability for traditional period and modern, minimalist properties alike.
Our authentically fluted Ionic plaster columns and pilasters are more ornate than the earlier Doric style and have the trademark Ionic scroll-shaped ornaments on the top (also referred to as the ‘capital’).
The Corinthian pillar style is more complex and elaborate than the preceding Doric and Ionic styles and the capital of our Corinthian columns and pilasters has lavish ornaments carved to resemble flowers and leaves.
