THE ELEGANT GEORGIAN CORNICE

 

Fullbrooks of England cornice and coving collection includes a range of exquisite and much sought after Georgian cornice styles, whose design really encapsulates the neoclassical spirit of the period.  

 

Ceiling mouldings were a popular choice in the Georgian era; they typically incorporated intricate patterns, particularly those including ribbons or depicting classical figures. Georgian cornice and coving was used to add interest to the join between the walls and ceiling.

 

Strong ancient Greek and Roman influence is present in Georgian style cornice, which is typically decorated with ‘dentils’ across the length of the cornice, as exemplified in our Georgian Dentil Block (product C14).
